About the Opportunity:

Qenos is seeking an
Electrical and Instrumentation Tradesperson, to join our team in Botany, NSW.


The position is part of the Polythene team, tasked with ensuring the
safe and
efficient operation, maintenance, reliability and improvement of all plant and equipment.

The Tradesperson role utilises skills and knowledge necessary to
isolate, diagnose, analyse and rectify complex equipment-related problems, as well as contribute to maintenance planning, provide technical advice and guidance to others within and outside the team.


Duties performed by this role are associated with:

  • Adhering to all SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) requirements in line with Qenos policy, standards and procedures
  • Carrying out Low and High Voltage switching operations and maintaining electrical earthing systems
  • Application and maintenance of electrical and instrument systems in hazardous areas (gas atmospheres)
  • Inspection and maintenance of all instrument systems including analysers, metering, trip systems, control systems and field instrumentation
  • Detailed fault finding and providing technical advice, support and direction on electrical and instrument equipment issues
  • Assisting in project commissioning and execution of plant modifications
  • Developing/reviewing maintenance standards, procedures and plans
  • Identifying hazards, performing onthejob risk assessment and actively participating in safe work reviews
  • Championing selfmanaged maintenance teams, including coordination of activities in accordance with business needs
  • Please Note: This is a fulltime position with base hours worked on a 4day per week roster. However, as the plant operates 24/7 there will be occasional instances of being called upon outside of normal working hours (managed under a Call-In roster)._

About You:


  • Certificate III in Electrical and Instrumentation
  • Electrician's license (NSW)
  • Hazardous Area Equipment (EEHA) certificate (competencies covering installation and maintenance in gas environments)
  • High Voltage Operations competency


Experience in HAZOP, Inherent Safety Design and Incident Investigation and any post-trade modules in either Electrical or Instrumentation will be highly regarded.
