About the role
***Reporting the General Manager, the purpose of the Key Account Manager Foodservice - NSW/ACT role is to execute a sales strategy and plan for the Seafood category. Key to success will be identifying new & ongoing sales opportunities to increase the profitability of the category, using consultative selling techniques. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide solutions to meet and exceed customer needs.


Responsibilities of the role

  • Develop & execute a sales strategy aligned to the national seafood strategy
  • Take responsibility of forecast for all seafood products that align to customer needs through an S&OP process aligned to customer & market needs
  • Use consultative selling techniques to generate opportunities by unpacking stated and uncovering unstated needs
  • Collaborate internally to expand your network of existing customers across business channels
  • Construct a planned customer engagement calendar aligned with your customer categorisation
  • Attend & contribute to sales meetings constructively as a senior leader within the seafood team
  • Attend industry events; research and report on market trends to increase network and sales opportunities
  • Continued development of new SKU's for procurement to deliver on that add financial value to the business & customer
  • Strong internal engagement with logistics team & external 3PL's

Your Experience & Attributes
-
MUST HAVE experience in seafood or specialty meats category

  • In depth understanding of the market, competitors and how to secure the best outcome for customer and the business
  • Highly developed commercial acumen and an ability to understand the broader commercial picture around pricing and ranging and making good commercial decisions on the fly
  • Deep understanding of the Foodservice Distributors PFD, Bidfood, NAFDA, Countrywide and the way they buy in the Seafood category
  • Understand the need to operate at a fast pace and be in front of customers at the right frequency
  • Ability to win and sustain business in a price sensitive category
  • Ability to build very strong relationships, communicate and present effectively
  • Ability to selfmotivate and work autonomously as part of a larger team
  • An understanding of key account groups in channels like Clubs/Pubs/HORECA/Industrial and QSR is a distinct advantage
