    About the OpportunityThe Senior Data Engineer will support our product, sales, leadership, and marketing teams with source system analysis and data mapping for analysing company data. This role will need to have client facing skills and will be required to work with internal and external clients.

    Our ideal candidate will possess strong experience using a variety of data wrangling/data analysis methods, using a variety of data tools, building, and implementing standardised, transformed data assets for business users and data scientists to work with.

    They would also be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams and will have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes. Some of the key duties of this role include:

    • Work with stakeholders such as clients, users, delivery partners, management, and Data & Analytics team members to define technical solutions to meet business requirements.
    • Participate in proof-of-concepts, and effectively transition and productionise those concepts.
    • Identify, design, and implement process improvements: automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
    • Technical ownership for data and data pipelines to ensure compliance with data standards, architectural standards, and achievement of business requirements.
    • Support compliance with data, information, and security management requirements.
    • Mentor, coach, and lead others in the team.
    • Cross functional cloud engineering.
    Criteria
    • Strong experience in building large, scalable, highly performant data solutions (batch processing and streaming) e.g., data warehouse, data integrations, data migrations and data modernisation platforms.
    • ETL design and data modelling.
    • Data analysis, generating data mapping documents, writing technical solution documents.
    • Experience mentoring and leading others.
    • Experience with cloud services.
    • Great numerical and analytical skills.
    • Strong PL/SQL and SQL scripting skills.
    • Working with Cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
    • Databases such as Snowflake, Oracle SQL Server, GCP.
    • Data integration & ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue.
    • Strong project management and organisational skills.
    • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
    Desirable
    • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field; a master's is a plus.
    • Data engineering certification (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP Data Engineer) is a plus.
