    Data Engineer (ETL) - Permanent Opportunity / Hybrid

    Developers/Programmers (Information & Communication Technology)

    Our client is a global organisation within the wholesale distribution sector who is currently in the early stage of building up their data & analytics capabilities.

    Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, this role is an exceptional one for an all-round Data Engineer with exceptional ETL experience across enterprise environments, who wants to own the function. Along with your strong ETL experience, you will also have worked in cloud-based environments, ideally Azure.

    This role is for someone who is passionate about data engineering, and who wants to constantly push their experience and knowledge. You will be the 'go to person' for analytical processing and the automation of business processes.

    As the Data Engineer you will work across a range of activities including: -

    • Own data engineering and work to create flows between source systems (ERP's), the data lake and the distributed analytical platform.
    • Build data sets for reporting, advanced analytics and machine learning applications
    • Build, develop and manage data flows, pipelines (ETL) that support reporting and advanced analytics activities
    • Development and administration of Azure cloud infrastructure and services
    • Work with technology teams, particularly ERP system engineers
    You will have worked across similar environments and have experience across:
    • Complex enterprise environments with multiple platforms and systems
    • Ability to build standards across data engineering and own them
    • Extensive experience across ETL development
    • Ability to work closely with key stakeholders, and ideally to understand finance concepts
    • Experience across supply chain distribution would be advantageous but not essential
    • Customer service mindset and a genuine passion for data engineering
