    About the role
    TAFE NSW is looking for individuals with current industry experience and knowledge in Community Services, Youth Work, Alcohol and other Drugs, Mental Health, Counselling or related areas to join our team of teachers at our hub in the heart of Western Sydney at Wetherill Park campus.
    The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

    About you
    You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience in Community Services. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, and have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment. You are a great team player who strives for success in all aspects of your day-to-day activities.

    Your Day to Day

    • Teach students face-to-face in classrooms and online

    • Support students 1:1

    • Issue, mark and provide feedback on assessments

    • Student administration, including marking registers and recording results

    • Maintain relationships with local industry and employers

    • Stay current with industry practice

    We would love to hear from you if you can meet the following selection criteria:
    1. Hold a recognised Degree or Diploma in any of the following Community Services areas; Social Work, Community Services/Welfare Work, Social Science, Youth Work, Alcohol and other Drugs, Mental Health, Counselling or other practice-based relevant community services discipline.
    2. Have a minimum of two (2) years post-qualification experience in industry relevant to your qualifications. Experience gained in Australia is highly desirable.
    3. Hold a Certificate IV TAE40116 or equivalent, or higher level qualification in Adult Education.
    4. Able to demonstrate preparedness to continue to develop your Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
    5. Have a demonstrated commitment to quality customer service and demonstrated ability to contribute to a team environment.
    6. Have proven strengths in problem solving and change management
