The opportunity
Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS6 level Project Officer to join their Service Guidance & Practice branch,
12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. APS 6 level role offering $58.50 hourly + Superannuation. To be based out of either RIchmond or Geelong.
This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 7.5-hour work days.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing project plans and schedules in accordance with the Agency's project management framework.
- Providing specialist advice and technical expertise to staff and stakeholders.
- Performing independent research work and analysis including the preparation of draft reports on relevant project activities.
- Coordinating regular project reporting including status updates and exception reports.
- Preparing draft written material including business cases, plans, executive briefs and corporate documentation.

- Monitoring project budgets, review and report on expenditure and assist with procurement and contract management.
- Identifying and assisting with the management of project risks, issues and benefits.
- Contributing to project quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs.

Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position:
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex information into clear, easy to understand reports.
- Ability to undertake data and system analysis to gather evidencebased information and provide advice to the branch about opportunities for improvement
- Implementing work plans, setting tasks and priorities and managing workflow.
- Managing multiple priorities while maintaining high work standards and accuracy, meeting defined timeframes and performing other duties as requested.
- Ability to work under limited direction, guided by policies, accepted standards and precedents.
