We're redeveloping our content team and we are looking for an ambitious, inquisitive, self-driven Financial Markets Reporter to help us achieve our vision.


The Opportunity:

We are looking for someone to take the key news and market moving stories of the day or week and translate it, with the support of a Digital Content Producer, into content to distribute to our clients across CFD and Invest products.

You'll be a key content writer across APAC with a specific focus on Australia and Singapore.

You'll work with closely with regional and global analysts and investment specialists to cover topics from different angles using varied formats.

You're passionate about investing and trading, deeply curious and enjoy developing thought-provoking content.

You will be part of a growing global editorial team that is increasingly working together to re-define value to our clients.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Markets

  • Specific knowledge of Australian and Singaporean markets with flex across US and APAC markets also.
  • Reporting on key markets transactions and corporate stories focussed on Australia and Singapore but flex into US and Asian markets.
  • Write and publish datadriven articles on the CMC platform for our different audiences to drive client engagement.
  • Participate in the story ideation/editorial process.
  • Curate and repurpose content from research reports turning them into new formats (i.e. podcasts or video)
  • Liaise with our Insights team for new content ideas.
  • Keep up with trends and market news, considering how they might influence our work.
  • Quickly respond to market moving events and respond with the timely release of materials to multiple channels.
Retail and Premium Client Book

  • Support our premium client desk in delivering additional exclusive content for our ALPHA clients.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders (Sales Trading, Retail Sales, Marketing and Client Services) to help identify areas where they can provide coverage or add expertise.
  • Daily written reports on global market news across all asset classes offered on the CMC Markets trading platform.
  • To cover major market events with pre and postanalysis, including interview features and media comments as appropriate
  • To continually monitor market trends, compile and maintain market and competitive information.
Media and Digital

  • To develop relationships with key press contacts in local and international media and use these to get highprofile coverage for CMC Markets
  • Be available as a point of contact to answer media queries and give interviews at short notice
  • Help set the agenda for key market events where we should proactively seek external press coverage
Public
Performance Management and Reporting

  • Provide regular reports that show the measurable contribution to CMC Markets for your content output
  • In all internal and external contact, present a professional and positive image of the department and CMC Markets as well as maintain constructive relationships providing training and guidance to other teams with regards to market analysis
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Must haves:

  • University degree in journalism or related communications field
  • Experience within journalism (financial/economics journalism strongly preferred)
  • Proven writing skills
  • Knowledge of SEO and best practices
  • An appetite to grow at a pace unlike you have never experienced before in your career
