Description:

Purpose


The Team Leader, Governance, Risk & Legal manages CoAct's Risk Management process through our Enterprise Wide Risk Management (EWRM) framework.

In addition, the role is responsible for providing advice relating to legal matters, particularly contract related matters.


The role also works collaboratively with the Company Secretary and provides governance input on behalf of the management team and contributes to the continual improvement of management-related governance policies and processes.


Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Ensure that the EWRM is maintained in accordance with the approved Policy and contribute to its improvement and alignment to organisational strategy, including Risk Appetite Statements (RAS), Risk Management Policy, Risk Register and Risk Appetite Dashboard
Manage the preparation of regular risk reports, including the Risk Appetite Dashboard for the executive management team, Board Committees and Board
Manage the Corporate Risk Register to ensure that the risks are current and up to date
Provide high level advice on legal matters, particularly contract-related, including recommending escalation for formal external legal advice when required
Provide effective administrative support for the management team's contribution to Board and Committees meetings
Ensure alignment of corporate governance requirements under the Quality Assurance Framework, ISO and Disability Service Standards


Skills and Experiences:

Personal Attributes

Articulate speaker and the ability to present complex issues in ways that are easily understood
Excellent written communication skills including a demonstrated capacity to prepare complex advice and reports and other documents as requested and within a timely manner
Strong organisational skills and deadline driven
Analytical skills to enable collection and interpretation of a broad range of information
High level of personal organisation, initiative and resourcefulness

Required Experience

Demonstrated experience building and/or maintaining enterprise risk management frameworks
Demonstrated experience dealing with and providing advice on legal matters, particularly contract-related matters
Demonstrated ability to interpret guidelines, deeds and contracts
Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates, member organisations, Government bodies and other external parties


Qualifications:

Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience
Employment Services or a similar type sector experience highly valued
