    About the role

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Payable professional to join our Finance Services Team. This is a permanent position supporting the Australian business, offering great career prospects within a privately-owned tier 1 construction company and international engineering enterprise.

    As part of this highly collaborative team, you will provide support to the finance function and broader business, delivering accounts payable services to ensure compliance with all Laing O'Rourke company policies, internal controls, and procedures.

    Key responsibilities

    • Work within an automated accounts payable workflow system using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to support minimal touch accounts payable workflow and exception management.
    • Reconciliation and allocation of invoices into accounting system.
    • Preparation of payment runs in accordance with payment schedules, legislative, project bank account or trust requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with all Laing O'Rourke finance policies and procedures.
    • Provide continuous feedback to the Accounts Payable Lead, including matters relating to business improvement and compliance.
    • Internal and external customer service supporting the efficient and timely resolution of queries and investigations within service level agreements.
    • Employee expense system administration and claims management including audit reviews and employee support.
    • Assist the team on other tasks or projects as required.

    About you

    • Strong understanding of end-to-end accounts payable/source-to-pay processes, proficient in analysing data and coordination skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and understanding when to escalate.
    • Ability to work under pressure with excellent time management skills and proven ability to plan and prioritise workload.
    • Experience using large ERP systems. COINS accounting system experience desirable, but not essential
    • Experience in expenses and credit card audits
    • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
    • Positive, business improvement mindset with the ability to adapt and operate within an evolving forward-thinking environment.
