The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (Mental Health - Transitional Recovery Service - Capstone Coordinator) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide efficient, responsive and recoveryorientated mental health care in a variety of hospital and community settings
  • Contribute to the development of clinical practice procedures and protocols, for both the discipline and the multidisciplinary team
  • Supervise, continuously develop and support staff and students within your specialty area or as delegated.
  • Manage a portfolio in a specialist area of interest and complete specific responsibilities relevant to the portfolio consistent with skill level and level of practice
About you


To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Credentialed through the College of Mental Health Nurses (or be prepared to work towards a credential in Mental Health Nursing)
  • A Masters or higher qualification within a relevant area is highly desirable
  • Driver Licence
  • Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

  • Temporary part time (up to June 2025 with the possibility of extension, 38 hrs p.f)
  • Base salary ranging from $ $72.58 per hour

The Transitional Recovery Service is a community based model of service that was developed utilising the skills of both Richmond Fellowship Queensland and the Gold Coast Health Mental Health and Specialist Services.


The model comprises of two programs of care:
Intensive Residential Treatment and Support and the Capstone Program, which interfaces with other funded community support services.
