About the role

As an ICT Category Specialist, you will be part of the procurement team in the ICT Category and will be responsible for ICT strategic sourcing activities as well as supporting the Category Manager, ICT as a senior member of the team.

Your key focus will be on ICT Sourcing for product, systems, and services across the whole of Ipswich City Council.

As the Procurement team has recently moved to a centralised model, there are still many opportunities to add value to systems and processes and continuous improvement is always supported.


Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing procurement advice to internal stakeholders
  • Facilitating end to end strategic sourcing activities including RFx development, Evaluation, Negotiation and Contract formation
  • Adhering to, and educating others about, Probity protocols
  • Taking a strategic, customer focussed approach to all activities
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of relevant Procurement legislation and policy, Contract Law and relevant market intelligence relating to ICT contracts.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

  • An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
  • Formalised Procurement Training (e.g. MCIPS)
  • Solid understanding of procurement methodologies and ability to derive value add for the business
  • Five or more years in Procurement, preferably within the ICT Category
  • A working knowledge of QITC contracting framework or similar
  • The ability to work autonomously to see projects and opportunities through to completion
  • The ability to be resilient, agile, and customer service focussed in all that you do

This is a level 7 with a salary package commencing at $106,835 plus superannuation of up to 12.25%.

$106,835.00 per year
