As the Flight Operations Communications and Engagement Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting and executing non-technical communications for the Flight Operations audience, along with logistics and planning for internal events, projects and people engagement opportunities.


The role supports the Flight Operations leadership team in coordinating and delivering activities that engage, inform and promote the engagement and wellbeing of Qantas pilots and the broader Flight Operations business, in line with strategic objectives.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Development and ownership of a central Flight Operations Engagement and activity calendar
  • Coordinate and contribute to regular internal publications including newsletters and face to face forums
  • Review, recommend and implement improvements to current communication and engagement processes within Flight Operations
  • Coordinate requests for media opportunities relating to Qantas pilots and the Flight Operations business
  • Liaise with all levels of the Flight Ops organisation to ensure publications and activities are delivered on time and to a high standard
  • Provide administrative and communications support to key projects and initiatives, with input and oversight from relevant Corporate Communication and HR team members as required
  • Protect confidentiality of nonpublic information, and act with a high level of discretion at all times

You'll have:

  • Aviation experience ideal
  • Team player with ability to work positively across a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Video production and experience with design programs like Canva highly desirable.
  • Ability to deal with fastpaced environments and juggle competing priorities.
  • Problem solver, selfmotivated with a proactive approach.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the team /department.
  • Ability to show initiative, flexibility and creativity
  • 2 3years communications or administrative experience in a large corporate, agency or newsroom
  • Relevant experience in a large Corporate environment or Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Journalism, Commerce or related discipline
