Due to an internal movement, Rabobank has an opening for a Transaction Monitoring Analyst to be based in Sydney. This is a back-office role where you will be responsible for the investigation of transaction monitoring alerts.

The focus will be on the assessment of potentially suspicious activity of clients for the purposes of Suspicious Matter Report submissions to AUSTRAC, while maintaining adherence to the internal standard operating procedure and external regulatory obligations.


What will keep you busy:


  • Managing and clearing the alerts generated in AML Transaction Monitoring Systems.
  • Conducting transaction monitoring investigations.
  • Escalating any potentially suspicious matters to the Regulatory Reporting team.
  • Ensuring strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedure for investigations.
  • Remediating investigations accordingly as determined by Quality Assurance and First Line Monitoring.
  • Be involved in testing requirements for new transaction monitoring rules and changes to existing rules.
  • Assisting in the execution of continuous improvement initiatives and processes to fruition.

Skills, experience and attributes you will bring to the role:

  • Around 2 years' experience in a Transaction Monitoring role.
  • Experience in AML/CTF alert monitoring and Investigation.
  • Sound Knowledge in AML/CTF act and Transaction monitoring and suspicious activities investigation.
  • Experience in assuring regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of banking codes of practice and other legislation including Privacy act.
  • Excellent attention to detail, demonstrable analytical skills and a high level of discretion.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and plan own work effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in Detica/ Netreveal/ Norkom or similar workflow tools used for AML/CTF highly regarded.
