    Description

    Airswift is actively looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to work on an initial 12-month contract in Perth, WA with a leading engineering company within the mining industry.

    Working on a major sustaining capital project for an iron ore client, you will be responsible in providing essential support for non-process infrastructure (water connections – pipeline, dewatering stations – pumping, and support on gas crossover etc.).

    Project Insights

    • Major sustaining capital projects for an existing mine site. Developing two (2) additional ore bodies.
    • Main design endeavors will be bulk earthworks, water transport & management, low voltage powerlines and comms.
    • New non-process-infrastructure haul road networks (civil earthworks), gas pipeline crossing, LV access roads, surface water management (waterway crossing), connection/extension to existing raw water distribution, satellite NPI facilities, communications infrastructure.
    • First 6 months will be basic design. Then transition to detailed design. A good 18 months minimum of work in the schedule.
    • Client will utilise existing plant, stockyards, and TLO.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Mechanical Engineering Degree – recognised by Engineers Australia.
    • 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering experience.
    • Not essential but beneficial to have experience with WaterGEMS.
    • Mining non-process infrastructure background preferred.
    • Will consider onshore oil and gas projects experience.
