Role Summary


Reporting to the Head of Rolling Stock, the Vehicle Services Team Lead - Victoria will be accountable for leading and managing a team of professional staff and associates to deliver high quality Rail Vehicle Engineering services to clients, primarily in the rail industry.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manage all aspects of relevant consultancy assignments undertaken for clients in Australia including allocation, estimating, tendering, planning, execution and close out.
  • Prepare responses to 'Requests for Tender' and other bidding opportunities.
  • Prepare unsolicited offers and proposals for the provision of services in line with business plan objectives as directed by the Head of Rollingstock
  • Develop innovative ideas which deliver service and product growth, client satisfaction improvement or operational performance improvement.
  • Develop business plans in support of the identified ideas and champion their development and implementation.
  • Ensure that work is completed in a safe and profitable manner, on time, to budget and to the client's satisfaction.

  • Provide mentorship to team members where appropriate.
  • Encourage and support the development of innovative ideas throughout the Rail Vehicle Services team.

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, Chartered Engineer (or a clear plan to achieve status); or more than 10 years related rail experience and/or consultancy; or proven track record in team management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Rail Vehicle Services assignment opportunities will integrate with SNC-Lavalin's broad spectrum of railway disciplines, and requires a flexible, selfmotivated, confident and professional approach.
  • A good understanding of railway engineering and operations.
  • Rail Vehicle Services expertise and relevant qualifications.
  • Strong engineering and management capability.
  • Able to establish and maintain a strong network of clients and collaborators.
  • Capable of effectively representing the SNC-Lavalin brand.
  • Proficient in managing and developing a professional team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
