The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a Paralegal based in our Macquarie office.

Responsibilities include:

Performing legal research and preparing summaries of research and discussion points.
Drafting and reviewing business as usual contracts including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements and data processing, under supervision of a lawyer in the CLTD Legal Team.
Assisting with conduct of other legal matters including but not limited to litigation/dispute under the supervision of other members in the Legal Team.
Drafting memos, letters and minutes of meetings.
Preparing draft correspondence for the business and external parties.
Assisting with the review and implementation of legal compliance and corporate governance policies.
Obtaining relevant records and information from databases to prepare event timeline summaries.
Work as a member of the CLTD Legal Team to develop and implement strategies to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the Legal function.

Minimum

Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with lawyers at all levels of the CLTD Legal Team.
Strong attention to detail.
Selfsufficient individual who is able to work on information analysis with limited supervision.
Must be able to work 34 days a week (halfday Tuesday mandatory).

Ideal

Experience working for a law firm or in house legal department.
Scientific background or course of study.
