The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a Paralegal based in our Macquarie office.


Responsibilities include:

  • Performing legal research and preparing summaries of research and discussion points.
  • Drafting and reviewing business as usual contracts including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, consulting agreements and data processing, under supervision of a lawyer in the CLTD Legal Team.
  • Assisting with conduct of other legal matters including but not limited to litigation/dispute under the supervision of other members in the Legal Team.
  • Drafting memos, letters and minutes of meetings.
  • Preparing draft correspondence for the business and external parties.
  • Assisting with the review and implementation of legal compliance and corporate governance policies.
  • Obtaining relevant records and information from databases to prepare event timeline summaries.
  • Work as a member of the CLTD Legal Team to develop and implement strategies to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of the Legal function.

Minimum

  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate with lawyers at all levels of the CLTD Legal Team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Selfsufficient individual who is able to work on information analysis with limited supervision.
  • Must be able to work 34 days a week (halfday Tuesday mandatory).

Ideal

  • Experience working for a law firm or in house legal department.
  • Scientific background or course of study.
