We are looking for a proactive and passionate safety-conscious leader to join our Rosehill site as an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager.


The Opportunity


As the site EHS Manager, you will work closely with our Rosehill Plant & Supply Chain leadership team to deploy activities that align with James Hardie's APAC & Global EHS strategy.


You will be responsible for executing and driving a sustainable EH&S Management System to agreed regional standards, and provide technical EHS expertise to improve processes and minimize risk.


You will provide direction and support to a site based EHS Coordinator and partner with the wider EHS team to implement sitewide initiatives to promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coach stakeholders on the effective implementation of the EHS Management System
  • Undertake risk assessments, as well as develop and maintain Safe Operating Procedures
  • Work closely with site leadership to manage audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance across all areas
  • Work with the regional EHS team to ensure best practices initiatives are identified and shared
  • Manage data and reporting against safety indicators to drive improvement activities
  • Implement critical risk control protocols
  • Conduct initial serious incident investigation and guide incident response protocols immediately
  • With support, liaise with external agencies, including regulators and external auditing agencies
  • Analyse incident and corrective actions register to ensure trends are identified to guide future practices; develop and monitor effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Ensure maintenance of key onsite registers incident, corrective action, site leadership records
  • Provide Return to work and Injury Management support to the site

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications with a major in WHS or Environmental Engineering preferred
  • Comprehensive experience in a Health and Safety site lead role within a similar or high risk environment
  • Sound knowledge of local EHS legislation, as well as understanding of EHS Management Systems and tools
  • Lead Auditor qualifications and ICAM or similar incident investigation qualifications
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management, and demonstrated ability to effectively influence and drive change
  • Demonstrated ability in development people
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple competing prioritie
  • Must be happy and willing to start your day bright & early (5:30am) with a 2pm finish.
