About the role:
Reporting to the Branch Manager - Budget Management and Analysis Branch, the Financial Analyst role assists and provides support to various budget management functions
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.
Your duties will include:
- Assist with the preparation of Victoria Police's budget estimates variations, forward financial planning and emerging financial issues.
- Assist with the preparation of briefings on financial matters and provide relevant analysis and sound advice to external and internal stakeholders.
- Undertake the reconciliation of the internal budget to external budget ensuring Victoria Police operates within its appropriation authority.
- Ensure compliance with General Government's budgeting and financial reporting frameworks and legislation.
As the successful applicant, you will have:
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with proven ability to interpret and present complex information.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated capacity to initiate and manage stakeholder relationships and expectations.
- Excellent document management skills and proven capacity to coordinate tasks, determine priorities, monitor workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in dynamics teams and willingness to share skills/knowledge, learn from others to support the team objectives.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance would be desirable.
- CPA qualified or currently studying towards.
- Experience in the use of accounting software, preferably Oracle in a large organisation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and EiS reports development highly preferrable
Requirements and relevant information:
- One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
