About the role:


As an Analyst Manger within the Organised Crime Intelligence Unit (OCIU), you will be responsible for the management of two teams that provide tactical support to investigations and undertake proactive leads generation and target development.

These teams contribute directly to investigations and are responsible for understanding the target environment relevant to organised crime and sporting integrity in Victoria.


Reporting to the Divisional Intelligence Manager, you will manage two dynamic teams of Intelligence Analysts and form part of the OCIU Intelligence Leadership Team, providing authoritative strategic advice and driving the development of the intelligence capability within the unit.

You will work closely with investigators, other work units within Victoria Police and external stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes are achieved.

Your duties will include:


  • Leading and developing a team of Intelligence Analysts
  • Identifying tactical and operational intelligence opportunities
  • Collaborating with intelligence and investigation managers to drive collection and analysis
  • Supporting the Divisional Intelligence Manager and providing highquality recommendations and advice on the results of intelligence gathering and analysis
  • Liaising and developing positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in the field of intelligence analysis or similar, preferably tactical/operational experience
  • Practical applied management, team leader and/or mentoring skills
  • The ability to lead and develop a successful and dynamic team
  • An analytical and curious mind with the ability to think critically
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to approach problems from a different perspective
  • Confidence to engage and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels

Requirements and relevant information:


  • One (1) x fulltime, ongoing position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo preemployment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
