    Description

    International Chinese School is a ministry of the Anglican Church serving families seeking a bilingual Christian education. ICS is a K-6 school conveniently located in St Leonards on Sydney's Lower North Shore.

    The School seeks a qualified, NESA-approved Kindergarten teacher.

    The School offers a bilingual immersion program, and 50% of the teaching week is delivered in Mandarin. English-speaking teachers deliver the English component to a class, with Mandarin-speaking teachers the Chinese component. For Kindergarten, this results in the teacher programming half the syllabus and teaching it twice (once to each kindy class).

    This full-time position commences in Term 2.

    Selection Criteria

    Essential

  • To have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and attend a Christian Church regularly
  • Accept the School's Statement of Faith and live a consistent lifestyle.
  • Familiarity with the current NESA Curriculum with experience in teaching K-6
  • Demonstrated ability to engage all students through differentiated quality teaching and learning programs incorporating the use of technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as a member of a team to build strong partnerships with staff, students and parents
  • NESA approval to teach in NSW
  • Current Working with Children Check Clearance

  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
  • First Aid Certificate
