The diverse and talented staff in the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) play a central role in achieving ECU's vision, and in designing and implementing future-oriented teaching and learning strategies.

With its base at the Joondalup Campus, the CLT delivers a comprehensive suite of services and programmes on campus


The Learning Support team forms part of the CLT, and is focused on enhancing student success and preparedness for university.

The team supports all ECU students to successfully transition into university and progress throughout their study, including enabling, undergraduate, postgraduate, and HDR programs.

The team adopts a strength-based perspective to student development in these programs through delivering communication skills activities both within and outside of the curriculum.

The Role

The Team Leader, Learning Advisers leads a team of learning advisers and peer learning programs across the University to improve the academic success of ECU coursework students.

This includes the management of self-access academic skills programs and oversight of other relevant learning support services such as Peer Assisted Study Sessions and Peer Skills Advisers.

This position is responsible for reviewing and reporting on student engagement with leaning adviser services, collaborating with other service centres in the delivery of student support, and liaising with stakeholders in Schools to support embedded communication skills activities where relevant.

Key Criteria


Applicants must have demonstrated knowledge and experience in:
Supervising and mentoring teams, setting priorities, providing on-the-job training and constructive feedback.

Coordinating or managing a service centre or learning program, preferably in a higher education environment.

Teaching and/or support of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.

Current pedagogies relevant to student learning, peer programs, and academic literacies in a higher education setting.

Techniques for improving academic writing skills, structuring arguments, structuring academic documents, and thesis or exegesis preparation.


You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University's values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence, and Courage.

Benefits & Remuneration
This full time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $111,152 to $125,191 per annum plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
