    Temporary Employment Register

    The Temporary Employment Register is open for candidates to express interest in casual employment as a Messengerial Attendant. This Register allows quick access to skilled individuals when needed.

    About the Role

    Messengerial Attendants offer top-notch service and administrative support to various clients at Parliament House, including the Speaker, Members of Parliament, and other parliamentary staff. The work is diverse, engaging, and involves collaboration with a broad client base. Key responsibilities include:

    • Setting up and clearing the Chamber and Federation Chamber on sitting days
    • Delivering and distributing parliamentary papers
    • Delivering messages
    • Collecting and delivering mail and goods
    • Setting up Committee rooms
    • Distributing furniture and equipment
    • Providing support for vehicle coordination
    • Assisting with directory inquiries
    • Escorting visitors and delegations

    You may also be involved in managing incidents and will receive First Aid training. Messengerial Attendants work on a roster basis, handle overtime when needed, and may need to shift duties based on requirements.

    Eligibility Requirements

    Messengerial Attendants must hold a Baseline Security Clearance.

    Employment Details

    Messengerial Attendants work on a casual basis and are expected to be available on sitting days. Work allocation follows a roster, and hours may vary. There is no guarantee of regular hours or ongoing employment.
