IE are currently looking for a Financial Controller to join the team on a temp to perm basis and support our CFO end to end across our finance function.

About the opportunity
The Financial Controller is a hands-on role providing end to end support across IE's finance function.

You will partner across the business to control and develop the Finance & Accounting function to support growth in a highly dynamic business environment.

You will also work closely with the CFO to produce insightful management reporting and commercial analysis to support strategic decision making.


_ Transactions:
_

- _Operate and manage the accounting software package (Xero);_
- _Manage the procure to pay function including monthly review of operational budgets, management of purchase order system, verifying supplier invoices, processing in Xero and organising payment by designated due dates;_
- _Manage the accounts receivable function, issuing customer invoices, updating internal finance systems and managing the collections process;_
- _Assisting with the development and maintenance of a comprehensive system of controls over all accounting functions;_
- _Coordination of payroll process and organising payment (processing is outsourced to third party payroll provider);_
- _Processing and organising payment of employee expense claims; and_
- _Managing the month end close process._


_ Reporting:
_

- _Assistance with the preparation of monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) including commentary and variance analysis;_
- _Assistance with the preparation of annual financial statements and audit process; and_
- _Assistance with the preparation of financial inputs for CFO report and management dashboard._


_ Compliance:
_

- _Assistance with the preparation and lodgement of annual corporate income tax return with the ATO (reviewed by external advisers);_
- _Assistance with the preparation and lodgement of annual fringe benefits tax return with the ATO (reviewed by external advisers);_
- _Assistance with the preparation and lodgement of quarterly BAS with the ATO (reviewed by external advisers);_
- _Preparation and lodgement of monthly payroll tax submissions and annual reconciliation with the relevant state revenue office(s);_
- _Coordination of monthly PAYG payments;_
- _Coordination of quarterly Superannuation payments; and_
- _Assistance with the management of the annual company return with the ASIC (reviewed by external advisers)._


_ Commercial:
_

- _Identify process improvements throughout the business and creating effective and efficient workflow solutions;_
- _Preparation of ad hoc analysis to support commercial decision making; and_
- _Assisting in the assessment of strategic growth opportunities (organic and inorganic) for the company._


_ Planning:
_

- _Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of monthly financial forecasts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow);_
- _Assisting with management of the annual budget process; and_
- _Assisting with management of a strategic 3 year plan (financial forecast)._


_ Systems:
_

- _Identify opportunities within the business for system changes/upgrades with a focus on automation; and_
- _Liaise with software providers to ensure that systems evolve to meet the needs of the business as efficiently as possible._


About You
You are an experienced finance professional that can provide exceptional support to the business and to the CFO.

  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • 5 years post qualified in a commercially focused role / or first step out of a chartered environment.
  • Recent experience within a digital, marketing or professional services business (Desired).
  • Exposure to business services, audit, internal controls and business governance is also highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and financial modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
