    Description

    We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join an Infrastructure and Renewables focused investment management firm based in their Melbourne office. This is a platform managed by some of the most experienced, and highly regarded, executives in the Infrastructure Investment space.

    As the COO, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing our operational functions to ensure seamless business operations and enhance our overall performance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the investment management industry, possess strong leadership skills, and be adept at driving strategic initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with senior management to define business objectives and develop action plans.
    • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Streamline internal processes and workflows to enhance productivity and minimize operational risks.
    • Manage and develop a high-performing team, providing mentorship and guidance.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations to assess team members' performance and identify areas of improvement.
    • Evaluate and implement technology solutions to optimize operational functions and support business growth.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvement measures.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that support the firm's strategic objectives.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies.


    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field. MBA preferred.
    • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the investment management industry, Infrastructure or Renewables exposure a preference.
    • Strong knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and regulatory requirements.
    • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
    • Sound understanding of operations management principles and practices.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Proficient in using technology platforms and software relevant to investment management operations.
