Northpark Private Hospital has grown to become one of the largest private hospitals in Melbourne's North, offering a wide range of surgical, maternity, and mental health care for its patients.


Northpark is embarking on an exciting new Expansion Project to be completed over two stages - End of 2023 and 2024.

Work has commenced on the major expansion of both the Northpark and LaTrobe Private Hospital sites to ensure the growing demand for quality health care across Melbourne's Northwest are met.


The Expansion project includes:

  • Expansion of our established Mental Health units by 22 beds, including a 10 bed Older Persons' Unit
  • Growth of support areas including group spaces, meeting rooms, interview spaces, a gymnasium and patient support areas


Northpark Private Hospital offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient programs that are tailored to meet the needs of people with a range of mental health conditions.

Inpatient groups offered at Northpark Private Hospital include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Addictive Behaviours, Reminiscence Therapy, Early Parenting, Art Therapy, Music Therapy and a range of other recreationally-focussed groups.

A range of Mental Health Outpatient Programs are also available to support people in the community, including but not limited to ACT, Art Therapy, ADHD, Managing Worry (CBT), Trauma & Recovery and Schema Therapy.

Neurocognitive assessments are primarily diagnostic in nature, or used to clarify strengths and weaknesses to assist with treatment/recovery planning. In addition to mental health conditions a wide variety of co-occurring neurological conditions are commonly assessed for, including dementia, alcohol/drug related cognitive impairment, developmental disorders, and ABI (e.g. BI, stroke, hydrocephalus).

Neuropsychology-focused groups are run across inpatient mental health units including the Older Persons' Unit, Adult Psychiatric Unit and Early Parenting Unit.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provision of clinical neuropsychology services to mental health inpatients with a wide range of psychiatric, neurological and developmental conditions. This includes neuropsychological assessments, report writing, client/family/referrer feedback, recommendations and treatment planning for adult and older adult populations
  • Facilitate inpatient and outpatient group therapy and sessions with a neuropsychological focus, including groups on memory, healthy brains and aging, sleep and relaxation and ADHD
  • Participate in the development and evaluation of policies and programs as appropriate
  • Provide supervision to Grade 2 Neuropsychologists and provisional psychologists on placement as required

Selection Criteria:


  • Appropriate qualifications in Clinical Neuropsychology (i.e. Masters or DPsych)
  • Registration with AHPRA, and endorsement in Clinical Neuropsychology
  • Experience in group therapy facilitation
  • Experience/interest in mental health
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Exceptional time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
