EL- Director, Technology Operations - External EOI:

  • Manage the Library's technology services and infrastructure, telephony and service desk functions
  • To be suitable for this leadership role you should have qualifications or extensive experience in information technology.

As a leader within the branch, the Director, Technology Operations role is responsible for:

  • Managing the Library's technology services and infrastructure.
  • Desktop and telephony.
  • Providing Service Desk services.
  • Cybersecurity operations.
  • Developing, promoting and maintaining NLA Infrastructure plans, policies and procedures.
This translates to the role having people, program and stakeholder management responsibilities.

You will have high-level capability for leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of IT specialists. Their responsibilities include developing, coaching, performance management, change management, conflict resolution and the identification of development needs.

You will provide strategic direction to the Section with accountabilities relevant to:

  • Ensuring the NLA Information and Communication Technology infrastructure and IT Business System Support Branch meets the Library's needs.
  • Leading the development and implementation of major IT infrastructure projects within the Library.
  • Developing and interpreting policy in a specialised area of work.
The Director, Technology Operations role develops and manages key strategic relationships within and external to the National Library promoting the organisation's strategic objectives


This will include:

  • Providing highlevel policy and technical advice on ICT matters to NLA business managers and assist them to identify and achieve their IT business needs.
  • Promote a health and safe workplace environment and model ethical behaviours in accordance with the APS Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Provide strategic level technical or specialist expertiese (governance, advice and assurance) relating to technology operations, user support and change management.
