Catering Assistant:

As a casual

Catering Assistant you will be responsible for providing quality customer service to all residents whilst also assisting with the preparation of basic food. Liaising with clients, families and staff, you are willing to initiate and participate within a team to build on ongoing improvement of services for our residents and their representatives.

Delivery service and presentation of meals across dining areas within a residence.

Ability to work with other catering staff and assist with the preparation of basic food items if required or directed by Team Leader.

Provide support to the retail café area or for functions and events within the residence. Provide support for function delivery. Provide support in determining food stocks and par levels, Ensure the catering facilities cleaning schedule is adhered to. Assist customers in line with service standards, following the Food Safety Program guidelines


Duties and Responsibilities (Catering):


  • Areas of responsibility:
  • Service delivery, coffee and food preparation in line with training, including presentation
  • Food reheating process and cooking of breakfast items
  • Resources will be used in a responsible, efficient and costeffective manner
  • Ability to assist in determine stock required
  • Restocking drinks, food or other goods as needed or directed.
  • Ensuring deliveries are stored correctly on arrival or as directed
  • Cleaning of equipment and environment as trained and/or directed
  • Set up and removal of furniture as needed or directed
  • Follow food safety documentation process and records.
  • Demonstrate competency within your role to deliver optimum service which meets the needs of the facility and compliant with bestpractice
  • Compliance with AHP Policies and Procedures; directives and communications
  • Demonstrate awareness of your own role and respect the role of others
  • Work cooperatively with other team members to achieve team goals
  • Demonstrate a commitment to working positively within a team environment
