In the role of Manager (Legislation) you will be leading the team who supports a range of legislation project deliverables and milestones by delivering critical administration support, project management and building relationships with internal divisions and external stakeholders including key central and other agencies across government.


Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic oversight across the entire portfolio to ensure TMR's primary and subordinate legislation programs are delivered effectively and efficiently and clearly articulate TMR intent and implementation actions as required.
  • Providing guidance and advice in the preparation of all legislation related briefs, submissions, minutes and associated documentation to ensure compliance with governance frameworks and business processes.
  • Providing robust and accurate advice about regulatory assessments to ensure that TMR's legislative activities comply with all government protocols and legislated requirements.
  • Providing legislation and parliamentary committee advice to TMR and ensure the TMR policy and legislative program contains correct and timely Cabinet and Governor in Council approval.
  • Streamlining existing strategies and policies relating to governance functions and activities associated with the delivery of TMR's legislative program.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders such as the Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel, the Office of Best Practice Regulation and the Department of the Premier and Cabinet to support the effective delivery of TMR's legislative program.
  • Leading the Legislation Working Group for TMR to ensure that close and collaborative relationships are formed with all stakeholders to enhance timely and efficient Cabinet, Legislation and Parliamentaryrelated business outcomes.
  • Conducting information sessions, workshops and training programs on legislative procedures and processes.
  • Coordinating the secure storage and handling of legislation documents within TMR, in compliance with relevant departmental and governmentwide guidelines.
