Are you a highly skilled and experienced Project Cost Controller with a proven track record of successfully managing budgets and costs for major projects? Are you adept at analysing financial data, providing cost support to project managers, and ensuring projects stay on track within approved budgets? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our client's team as a Project Cost Controller.


Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Develop, control, plan, and forecast project budgets for the successful execution of works and other key contracts.
  • Monitor and analyse project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and identifying potential costsaving opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, providing comprehensive cost support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present detailed monthly project reports to stakeholders, highlighting budget performance, cost trends, and potential risks.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to reduce costs and optimise project financials without compromising quality and safety standards.
  • Implement rigorous costtracking mechanisms to ensure projects adhere to approved budgets and minimise deviations.
  • Work closely with the project team to assess and mitigate financial risks, ensuring projects are financially viable and sustainable.
  • Provide expertise in cost estimation and budgeting during the project planning phase, contributing to accurate project proposals.
  • Assist in developing project cost control strategies, standardising processes, and optimising cost management tools.
  • Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to negotiate favourable contracts and achieve cost efficiencies.

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 510 years of experience in a major project cost control role.
  • QS and/or MCIPs qualifications, well regarded.
  • Proven expertise in developing and managing project budgets, cost analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of collaborating with diverse project teams effectively.
  • Detailoriented and highly organized, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Advanced Excel)
