Operational
To be fully aware of all events and activities within Food & Beverage & hotel on a day to day basis.
To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times following the Operational Standards of Hyatt Place Melbourne Caribbean Park.
To seat, present menus, take orders, serve food and beverage to guests according to the established sequence and procedures.
To set up, clear and reset designated work areas.
To perform opening and closing procedures established for the place of work assigned.
To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu and ability to recommend food and beverage combinations and up-sell alternatives.
To monitor operation supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage. To report lost and found items.
To assist in identifying all training needs.
To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
To keep a positive and professional relationship between all departments across the Hotel and Food & Beverage.
To provide excellent service to internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
To have a full working knowledge and capability to supervise, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks in the assigned place of work.
General
- To report for work punctually, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department's grooming standards.
- To demonstrate Hyatt's Purpose and Values at work.
- To read the hotel's Associate Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
- To attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.
- Attend and contribute to all meetings as required.
- Handle guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
- Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
- Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.
- Exercise responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the hotel and Hyatt.
- Respond to requests to undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties and to changes as dictated by the hotel, industry and company.
