About the role


The Program Manager will form part of the integrated SBA Project Team and will work in close collaboration with the SLHD Executive, University of Sydney (USYD), NSW Ministry of Health (MOH), and a diverse range of stakeholders including consultants, clinicians, academics, researchers and community representatives.


The Program Manager will support the planning and coordination for the SBA initiative, in particular regarding consultation with a diverse range of stakeholders, future change management and operational considerations for SLHD and in collaboration with the other principle partner USYD.

They will achieve this by liaising with expert best practice sources across and within the SLHD, USYD and MoH in partnership with a series of consultants including Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, specialist advisors, Researchers and Clinicians.


Critically, the role will provide a high level support for the Chief Executive, Executive Director, SIPfHER and Sydney Research and Deputy Director, Sydney Research in all aspects of planning and delivery, including coordinating all activities required to support the successful completion of the project through all stages of the project lifecycle.


We are looking for someone who has

  • Significant experience in planning and design, clinical operations, change management, operational management and/or project management roles and/or planning supporting delivery of major hospital redevelopment or capital development projects within Health.
  • Highly developed negotiation, consultation and interpersonal skills with a range of stakeholders and demonstrated objectivity in decisionmaking.
  • Advanced level analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to provide high level influencing, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with researchers, clinicians, managers and staff.

About working for SLHD

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course (2 doses) of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine (except for the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine which is approved by the TGA as a single dose primary course). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. A NSW Health agency may require further information about the medical contraindication (including but not limited to an Immunisation Medical Exemption form - IM011 form).

Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
