Our Federal Government Client is looking for a Data Analyst with Power Bi skills to join the team and engage with business experts to deliver data and analytics solutions that improve decision making across the department's diverse and interesting portfolios.


Key responsibilities and experience for the role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Identify, interpret, and analyse data using statistical techniques to answer multifaceted business problems including the identification of trends and /or patterns in data sets, and to create inference or insight.
  • Design and produce reports, visualisations, and recommendations to answer business problems that are presented in the most appropriate format to ensure clarity for target audience using Power BI, and other BI tools.
  • Analyse and define new process improvements opportunities on ways to improve efficiency and reliability on the use of data, data products and service.
  • Coach, train, develop self service capability and knowhow for business areas engaged in discovering and using data for insights and decision making.
  • Translation of business requirements into technical design solutions.


Acute attention to detail, strong accountability, and solid hands-on experience working collaboratively with business to improve business results and support capability uplift.


Skills and experience we are looking for includes:

  • Project management skills in an agile environment.
  • Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with SQL, R or Python, advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • Experience in reporting/data visualisation tool Power BI (or other similar tools)
  • Experience working within the Microsoft Azure environment (e.g., Databricks
