Salary range:
$89,004-$100,984 plus statutory super

The Policy Officer role offers an outstanding career opportunity for someone who loves problem-solving and is passionate about using their unique skillset to work with VIT's Strategic Planning, Policy and People team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing policy, managing projects, and contributing to the development of policy processes to strengthen VIT's risk-based regulatory activity.


About the role
This role will require you to

  • Establish the necessary systems, tools and administrative processes to support policy development.
  • Identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities to enhance policy outcomes.
  • Plan the policy development process including identifying decision makers, policy requirements, issues and risks.
  • Undertake research and analysis and prepare policy options/proposals.
  • Provide authoritative, strategic and practical policy advice to VIT's Executive.
  • Manage key strategic projects under the direction and supervision of the Strategy, Policy and People Manager, related to legislative and policy reform.
  • Engage, consult and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic and policy outcomes.
  • Maintain an understanding of contemporary riskbased and outcomesfocused regulatory practice and be knowledgeable about key state and national priorities in education.
