A strong leader and people manager who can engage a team to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced and flexible environment and implement strong project management practices to support delivery of policy and legislative reform.

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Senior Manager who will lead a small dynamic fast-paced team within the broader environment of Homes Victoria.

This position will report to the Director, Aboriginal Housing, and will be responsible for leading a wide range of Aboriginal housing policy design and implementation across the housing system.

The Manager forms part of the leadership team within the Aboriginal Housing Unit and will be committed to improving housing outcomes for Aboriginal Victorians.

The focus for this role will be to work across a wide range of stakeholders in partnership with the Aboriginal community in delivering key policy reform, and initiatives, these include, but are not limited to:

  • Victoria's Big Housing Build Aboriginal housing target delivery. Drive key policy reform, initiatives and priorities identified within Mana-na Woorn-tyeen Maar-Takoort: Every Aboriginal Person has a Home -The Victorian Aboriginal Housing and Homelessness Framework. Lead systems change and reform to benefit Aboriginal communities. Provide leadership across Homes Victoria and broader to Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet, and agency submissions on complex matters.2. Support continuous improvement and ensure alignment to leading practise in the areas of project management and escalating critical risks/exceptions where required.3. Develop policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
