About the Role

The Group Manager Workers Compensation and Injury Management will own and drive the implementation of a step-change across workers' compensation and injury management.

Through education and constant review of all workers compensation matters with the business, drive a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on early return to work and ultimately prevention Additionally you will be responsible for:


  • Development and delivery of coaching of frontline leaders to build capability and enable effective management of injuries and illness.
  • Partner with the senior management team to bring about better understanding and body of knowledge with respect to the management and expectations for employees who are ill or injured as a result of work.
  • Provide advice and support to sites on injury management and workers compensation claims management.
  • Participate in claims reviews and insurers and actively manage estimated and premium impacted costs.
  • Manage insurance requirements for workers compensation/
  • Continuous improvement of the injury management, rehabilitation and return to work policies and procedures.
  • Provide the organisation with statistical trend analysis to assist key stakeholders to control costs associated with injury management, rehabilitation and return to work

About You

  • Strong depth of experience as an injury management/workers compensation manager within a large complex organisation
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field
  • Proven and effective track record in injury management and return to work processes in large multisite organisations with wide geographical dispersion
  • Highly collaborative style and strong stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in team engagement, cultural change and process improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships at all levels internally and externally.
