A Team Leader supervises teams of technical or other employees. Responsibilities typically include setting day-to-day operational objectives for team. Problems faced may be difficult but typically are not complex. Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and other stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensures that drawings, specifications and schedules are correctly interpreted by the Subcontractor
  • Inspects the subcontracted works to ensure that acceptable work standards are achieved
Checks equipment before release to the Subcontractor advising Materials Controller of any defects or where damage has occurred

  • Checks the acceptability of the methods and practices proposed by the Subcontractor
  • Responsible for checking the quality and accuracy of own work
  • Undertakes any additional tasks that may be required by the Site Manager
  • Evaluates construction progress and liaise with Project Planner
  • Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company's operational activities
What you bring

  • Proven "hands on" Supervisory experience in fixed pant and counterbalance machines including but not limited to crushers, mills, apron feeders, pumps, stackers, reclaimers
  • Sound knowledge of metalliferous operating & process facilities i.e. iron ore, gold
  • Trade Qualified
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to empower your team
  • Strong commitment to the positive Safety culture with the ability to walk the talk on safety
  • Able to provide reports on production activities including progress against budgets
  • Sound ability to understand & execute mechanical plans
  • Able to proactively assist in all aspects of coordinating shut work activities including but not limited to assessment of work instructions, procedures, manning levels and appropriate skillsets
  • The ability to use initiative to contribute and support continuous improvement, and drive change
  • Assist with the completion of required inspections, audits and HSE reports
