As the QLD Service Centre Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Queensland Service Centre's.

You will lead the teams to become best in class, as measured by safety, quality, delivery, and cost, for the assembly and servicing of minerals processing equipment and spare parts.


To be considered for this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in a senior operations management role, with a focus on building large permanent operational teams; delegation, teamwork and motivating others.

Job responsibilities

  • Focus the team on developing the appropriate safety culture to eliminate harm to our workforce
  • Lead the development of sustainable profitable growth within FLSmidth' s Professional Services team by implementing the longterm strategy; continuously improve operational efficiency, and the technical competence of the local team; and contribute strongly to the overall company result, culture and development.
  • Align Operational strategies and processes to contribute to the delivery of Corporate Strategies and performance initiatives and goals
  • Actively contribute to the achievement of global targets and initiatives as they relate to the performance of the Australian business.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of processes that consistently result in our delivery targets being met.
  • Ensures supply chain systems including assembly system manufacture consistently meet delivery performance targets
  • Oversee the development, management and continual improvement of the planning processes based on forecasts and sales orders received, to deliver a demand and inventory plan for mineral processing products. Effectively manage the change process to support system changes and employees.
  • Lead and drive a culture of Continuous Improvement to support achievement of manufacturing, delivery, ROI and other business goals.
  • Maintain a culture and focus around continuous improvement to systems and process in order to sustain a year on year measurable improvement capability to ROI, manufacturing performance and efficiency.
  • Maintain metrics, analyse results and develop improvement plans primarily using Competitive manufacturing principles (LEAN). Assure initiatives are completed to meet safety, quality and cost goals. Identify and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements
  • Lead the maintenance of the company Quality policies and procedures including ongoing certification
  • Ensure that all nonconformances and customer feedback is used to improve the business performance
What you bring

  • Demonstrated expert in LEAN implementation
  • Experience within heavy equipment manufacturing with a complex product base
  • Exposure to an OEM and knowledge of mining or mineral processing
  • Cost conscious with a demonstrated history of cost reduction through manufacturing and purchasing excellence
  • Quality advocate
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and to work through complex problems collaboratively
  • Proven understanding and ability to implement risk management processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fastpaced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Experienced utilising ERP database systems
  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organise and work effectively under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills
