    About the Site

    Jeeralang Power Station is a peaking plant located in an open rural environment in the Latrobe Valley, approximately 150km south-east of Melbourne and about 6 km south of Morwell. Jeeralang consists of seven open cycle gas turbines, making it flexible and market adaptive. With a total capacity of 450MW, this asset plays a significant role in our portfolio, especially as we transition to a cleaner energy future.

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Jeeralang Asset Leader, you will provide subject matter expertise and ownership relating to LV and HV Electrical plant such as generators, transformers and circuit breakers.

    This broad and diverse role will see you working across operations, maintenance, asset management and site projects.

    Specific roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide effective Asset Management for electrical plant including up-to-date and accurate Life Management Plans, Asset Management Plans, and maintenance routines
    • Work on end-of-life strategies for electrical plant
    • Plan and manage all assigned maintenance and project work, including the construction and execution of contracts
    • Assist others onsite in planning short-term, long-term and outage works programs
    • Fault finding and root cause analysis; Strip down, repair, testing and commissioning
    • Specifying and sourcing replacement components, specialist repair options and service providers.
    • Liaise with Newport Operators (operating Jeeralang remotely) to respond to alarms and plant issues.
    • Perform HV & LV Switching and Earthing operations.

    ** This is a full time, permanent role with availability cover (on-call) on rostered basis (currently 1 week in 7)

    The Profile

    Due to the specific and technical nature of this role, we are seeking high-level candidates with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

    • Tertiary qualifications or Diploma Electrical Engineering or Electrical apprenticeship trade qualifications.
    • Extensive heavy industry experience with relevant plant and equipment
    • Expertise in Electrical Safety Management Scheme supervision and compliance.
    • High level understanding and experience with a CMMS (Maximo preferred)
    • Proven track record of Asset Management principles in a commercially focused environment.
    • Technical experience with Gas Turbine plant is preferred.
