Rotate through all areas of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)

  • We are seeking an experienced CSSD Instrument Technician Educator who has completed Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services and 5 years of CSSD / Operating Theatres experience, to work in a busy trauma hospital. Our department is 24 hours, 7 days per week rotating roster, and also processes for other hospitals including Peter Maccallum Cancer Centre.

Your Opportunity:


  • The CSSD Educator is a member of the CSSD Leadership Team who works in a collaborative partnership with the CSSD Nurse Manager, ANUM, Supervisors.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring all CSSD staff can deliver high quality work across all areas including guiding and promoting best practice with the processing and care of reusable medical devices.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for the CSSD staff needing information and education relating to equipment and consumables and is responsible for working with CSSD technicians on the floor daily.
  • Coordinate and facilitate CSSD education to all CSSD staff including training and assessments of clinical competencies.

About you:


  • Cert IV in Sterilisation Services
  • Substantial CSSD / Operating Theatre experience
  • Sound Knowledge of AS 536
  • Mastery in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Solid Communication skills
