The Opportunity
Through targeted and strategic communication efforts, the Communications Officer contributes to enhancing IMOS visibility and engagement across the spectrum of stakeholders.
By effectively managing IMOS communication channels, the officer aids in disseminating vital information, research outcomes, and the significance of IMOS' work, ultimately strengthening connections and advancing marine and climate science within and beyond Australia.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist the Communications Manager with all IMOS communications.
- Assist with the development of an annual communication plan including key events or dates, lead up messaging and analysis of communication impact and engagement.
- Maintain the IMOS branding and corporate style guide.
- Maintain content and copy of the IMOS website and work with the AODN Team to ensure consistent and coherent organisational branding across various website and end user facing data portals.
- Work with researchers, universities, and other key stakeholders to translate complex scientific information into accessible language for diverse audiences.
Your Application
- A degree level qualification in a science or communications discipline with at least four years subsequent relevant experience working within a science, research, or related industry sector; or an equivalent combination of relevant industry experience and/or education/training.
- Proven record of achievement in communications, marketing and/or public relations.
- Competency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of programs or similar industry standard programs.
- Excellent interpersonal skills that enhance an ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, and work flexibly and proactively as a member of a team.
- A capacity to act independently, while exercising discretion, sound judgement, impartiality and confidentiality.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $110,273 comprising base salary within the range of $86,918 to $94,250 plus 17% superannuation.
