The opportunity and what you will be doing:
We are seeking a Product Owner with a technical background to join this Global Platform Team:

  • Lean-Agile

  • Support the teams to translate a vision for their products and services into tangible deliverables,
  • Maintain product backlogs/roadmaps, support estimation & forecasting, and manage priorities,
  • Assist the team in identifying and helping to resolve blockers/dependencies with other teams, including identifying/managing any risks or issues that will prevent the successful delivery of an initiative,
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer, Product Management, and technical teams to define, prioritise, maintain, and navigate the platform's developmental directions,
  • Assist the Senior Product Manager in areas that need help and additional capacity, including preparing management presentations & business communication, and team building activities,
  • Assist the team with planning and communicating releases with stakeholders and other teams,
  • Ensure the adoption of new services & features and implement strategies to improve adoption,
  • Leverage the Scaled Agile Framework to deliver value in Iterations and Program Increments,
  • Ensure clear acceptance criteria and examples are available providing guidance and advice to developers when clarifying features and stories,
  • Review completed stories and iterations and agree on completion or further work required,
  • Help the team determine (and anticipate in advance) what enabler work is required for a feature,
  • Participate in demos, reviews, retrospectives, refinements, sprint planning & other team sessions, and conduct additional backlog refinement as necessary,
  • Coordinate support priorities and work with the team to help resolve issues, and undertake initial investigations on new issues to gather requirements, steps to replicate, and determine priority,
  • Update stakeholders on progress, roadblocks, and new directions, and negotiate as required,
  • Help to identify & implement process improvements in the software development life cycle,
  • Technical awareness of RESTful API design, Queuing, SQL & No-SQL Databases, and standards.
***- Proven experience (3yrs+) in managing or working on technical projects/products,

  • Skilled communicator
  • Able to take high level visions and clarify and translate into requirements & stories suitable for completion by developers and work with QA & Devs to verify they are done,
  • Ability to understand and write technical & product requirements and standards and liaise with stakeholders, developers, QA, and solution architects to get everybody aligned,
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence, ClickUp, or other similar systems,
  • Experience with distributed systems and architecture (including RESTful APIs, Microservices Architecture, databases, and queuing),
  • Passionate about the customers' experience and constantly improving products,
  • Ability to professionally liaise with other teams,
  • Ability to facilitate conversations, meetings, and events, including prep and followup,
  • Well organised and committed to transparency and tracking,
  • Compassionate toward developers understanding the constraints and realities of software development with complex systems,
  • Passionate about technology and people.
  • Strong attention to detail

Highly desirable if you have:


  • SAFe PO/PM Certification, or other similar/relevant certification
  • 2yrs+ experience in a dedicated product owner/manager role in an Agile environment,
  • Prior experience as a Senior Software Developer, QA, Tech Lead or Solutions
    Architect role
