Our well-known WA Mining client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Technician with excellent oral and written communication skills.

The successful applicant will be required to provide remote support to new technology / equipment within areas of automation, wireless communications, and remote-control units


Responsibilities

  • Provide tier 2 technical support to engineering staff, management staff, and operations.
  • Diagnose, repair and fault find all automation related equipment.
  • Assist engineering staff in the management and commissioning of projects to achieve optimal reliability, availability, and the required levels of performance.
  • Provide operational support for Mine Automation systems.
  • Provide feedback and analysis of trials / equipment to relevant development groups.

Automonous drilling or trucking technical support
With a primary function to provide technical support, diagnose, repair and coordinate the escalation of unscheduled repairs, applicants must have an Electro-Mechanical Aptitude with commercial experience in electronics and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Practical experience designing simple diagnostics experiments.
  • Knowledge of wireless Access Point and mobile device computer configurations.
  • Solid working knowledge of PLC, UNIX or Linux operating system including simple administration.
  • Practical experience with principles of sensors and sensor logic and data acquisition
  • Practical experience using serial communications busses
  • Demonstrated remote support or FIFO site experience and mining experience.
  • Good skills access MS Office Suite
  • Methodical with high level problem solving skills.
