About the Opportunity


The Global Air Distribution Team is responsible for ensuring the most comprehensive and competitive air product is available to all Flight Centre Travel Group brands.

This involves managing the relationships with the key Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and developing technology solutions to keep pace with the fast-changing world of air content distribution.


The Commercial Analyst, reporting to the Finance Business Partner, is responsible for forecasting and analysing the revenue streams generated from air content distribution, supporting commercial negotiations and tracking costs.


This role would suit anyone keen to further develop their commercial acumen and analyst skillset, whilst becoming an expert in the fast-changing world of travel content distribution.


Accountabilities

  • Financial_

Ensure the integrity of all financial data by:

  • Focusing on the consistency of financial data and key measures across the business by understanding the data flows across different systems
  • Focus on creating efficiencies to benefit the business
  • Analysing data to identify trends and patterns to assist the business leaders
  • Strategic and Operational_
  • Key stakeholder engagement and business partnering including area leadership team
  • Analyse key stakeholder requirements and provide data insights
  • Identify key business, company and industry trends
  • Develop scenario analysis and recommendations
  • Conduct business reviews to identify opportunities and ensure profit maximisation
  • Identifying, reviewing and documenting improvements to existing business processes
  • Completion of the annual budget and forecast process
  • Communication of analysis to various stakeholders
  • Reporting_
  • Design and modification of reports to meet business needs
  • Ensure reporting to capture key business indicators
  • Drive reporting innovation and ease of use
  • Daily analysis and reporting on key KPI's
  • Technical Support_
  • Proactively investigate one best way solutions and ensure they are in line with the strategic direction of the group

What you will need:


  • Relevant degree qualified
  • Qualified/part qualified or a commitment to commence CPA/CA preferred
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in commercial environment is essential (travel/aviation industry preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Intermediate level required


  • SQL, Power BI

  • Desirable
  • Working with complex data in large volumes essential
