About the company:


Due to growth and the expansion of their services, this well-known, large national not-for-profit is in the search of a highly motivated and versatile HR Business Partner to join their busy Melbourne P&C team.

Reporting directly to the HR Manager, the primary function of this role will be to establish trusted and influential relationships with portfolio managers and employees at all levels, providing expert HR consultation and advice, translating program / divisional strategies into HR objectives.

This is a hands on, busy role.

This is a full-time role, Monday - Friday. You will have the opportunity to work hybrid


Your key responsibilities include:


  • Act as a true and trusted HR Business Partner with highly effective stakeholder relationships, providing HR strategic and advisory support to managers and employees across the employment life cycle.
  • Support executive, management and employees in the interpretation and adherence to applicable industrial instruments, company policies, procedures and processes, and best practice.
  • Ensure the effective, informative, and consistent induction and orientation of new employees and leaders
  • In consultation with the Manager Human Resources Partnering, where required, provide specialist advice and case management on relevant employee relations matters including probation processes, performance management, misconduct, grievances, employee wellbeing and implementation of change processes.
  • Manage the offboarding process, including exit survey and exit interview data analysis and reporting, identifying continuous improvement opportunities and developing retention strategies to reduce workforce turnover.
  • Any other duties consistent with the position where required by the Manager of Human Resources Business Partnering and/or the Executive Director of People & Culture.

You will have the following:


  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources; Business; Management or a related business discipline.
  • Demonstrated relevant experience in generalist HR roles (minimum of 5 years HR experience) with a sound knowledge of contemporary HR strategies and practices, including strong performance management and employee relations experience.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining highly effective stakeholder relationships, establishing a reputation for being a trusted advisor and business partner.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively in a large, fast paced, complex and dynamic organisational environment.
  • High level coaching skills at both an organisational and individual level.
  • Sound project management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • An understanding of and complete commitment to confidentiality
