What you will be doing:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Technician to join the Nepean Hospital team on a full time basis.
In this role you will be responsible to the Director of Pharmacy for the provision of a safe, efficient and effective distribution of pharmaceuticals to wards and departments and providing assistance in the preparation of manufactured sterile and non-sterile products, and dispensing of prescriptions and associated clerical duties.
You will:
- Assist with inpatient and outpatient dispensing including S100, SAS and clinical trials as directed under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
- Prepack and label pharmaceuticals under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Keep all the records associated with this in an accurate and tidy manner. Ensure any equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Prepare resuscitation trays under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Keep all the records associated with this in an accurate and tidy manner. Ensure any equipment is clean and in good working order.
- Prepare nonsterile products under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Ensure that all equipment is clean and that all necessary records are kept.
- Be prepared to be trained and to prepare sterile products under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and in good working order. Ensure that all the records required for these products are completed and kept.

Selection Criteria to be Addressed:
- Successfully completed a qualification in a relevant field recognised by the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia or up to the level of Certificate III issued by a Registered Training Organisation in Hospital and community Pharmacy (eg Charles Sturt University) or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent or successfully completed a nationally recognised Pharmacy Technician Certificate Course at Certificate Level IV or has qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment and possess good time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate well with the other staff working as part of the team.
- Demonstrated good attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work output.
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Previous Australian Hospital Pharmacy experience preferred.
