About the role


An exciting career opportunity exists for a proactive and highly motivated Operations Manager - After Hours (internally known as Manager - After Hours Operations) to join our team in Canberra on a permanent full-time basis.

You will oversee after-hours operations across several properties by leading the team to deliver a consistent and exceptional resident experience.

In your new role, you will gain exposure to a range of tasks and responsibilities including:

  • Providing advice and information to the management team in matters concerning the welfare of residents and act under management's direction.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive relationship with all key stakeholders (including university management, heads of hall, and University security team).
  • Engagement of the emergency services, escalations, and campus security when appropriate to ensure a quick response to any emergency.
  • Ensure the Community Support Officer (Night Manager) team provides high quality, friendly and engaging customer service to residents and other guests.
  • Rostering of all Community Support Officer shifts, including arranging or performing suitable shift covers if required.
  • Assist the Management team with grievances and conflict resolution as required.
  • Be an active member of the emergency response team during shift times.
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management of the Community Support Officer team.


This is the perfect role for someone who comes from the student accommodation or hospitality industry, with exposure to frontline operations.

If you thrive in an afterhours role, this role will offer you a 38-hour work week, Thursday to Monday with afterhours shift times from 4:00 PM - midnight.

This role will commence at the beginning of July 2024.


Our requirements include:

  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia
  • National Police Check (completed within last 3 months) or willing to obtain
  • Working with Childrens Check or willing to obtain
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate or willing to obtain
