About the role
The works form part of BHP/BMA's Project Australia wide Village Security Improvement program.

Multiple positions available for competent Communications Technicians across 3 sites located in the Bowen Basin, QLD

The work includes the installation of additional lighting, security cameras, Fibre Optic Cabling, duress alarms and electronic access systems. Completion of site works / systems commissioning is scheduled for March 2024.

Your role will include:


  • Installation of cable pathways (conduit systems)
  • Installation of equipment security panels, cameras, duress alarms, headend equipment etc
  • Installation of fibre and cat 6 cabling, plus termination of same
  • Construction verification of network systems plus providing assistance for commissioning of security system.

Key requirements for this project are:

  • FIFO experience preferred, however, not essential.
  • Open Cable license
  • Fibre and structured cabling endorsement's
  • Preferred Cert III in Telecommunications
  • Working at Heights (within 2 years)
  • Construction White Card
  • Strong safety culture
  • Ability to work as part of a small team
