InPlace System Officer

  • Full time fixed term position for 9 months
  • Based in Hobart, Launceston or Burnie

The Opportunity
Quality Professional Experience Placements (PEP) are integral to the professional degree programs offered by the University.

The InPlace Administration team communicates consistency of processes, guidelines and procedures related to PEP and manages the student placement management software called InPlace.

The InPlace Administration team is part of the College of Health and Medicine's (CoHM) PEP team.

The InPlace Administration Team has three members - the System Support Officer, the System Specialist and the System Manager and supports all users of InPlace.


As a member of the InPlace Administration team, the System Officer will provide: a customer-centred service approach to provide system maintenance and reporting; support users of InPlace through assistance with service requests; and will undertake a wide range of administrative and support service functions for the InPlace team.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Develop a highlevel understanding of the InPlace system, and work closely with the InPlace Administration team to support InPlace business processes, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Maintain database systems that support the InPlace team and liaise with IT Services teams to implement data flows and automation. Develop documentation of databases, automations and reports for the InPlace Administration team.
  • Support the development and maintenance of reporting requirements, including consultation with users, scheduling of reporting, technical design, and presentation of data, for delivery to CoHM PEP teams and decisionmakers.
  • Assisting with the system upgrade process, including completion of postupgrade testing and troubleshooting. Testing of new InPlace features and enhancements for consideration.
  • Engagement with software vendor for system upgrades, technical support and troubleshooting.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff from Colleges, Schools, IT Services, and the software vendor.

Your Application

  • A degree qualification in a relevant area with relevant workrelated experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and / or training.
  • Experience using SQL, SQL Reporting Services, PowerBI and highlevel Excel skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and demonstrated capacity to act independently within established guidelines, using discretion and sound judgement.
  • Welldeveloped written and oral communication skills, with particular emphasis on attention to detail and ability to focus.
  • Ability to gather information to identify business processes, develop process documentation, correspondence, and reports.

Remuneration


Appointment to this role will be at HEO 5 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $99,698 comprising base salary within the range of $76,302 to $85,212 plus 17% superannuation.
