Perth Regional Field Services is a key function within Water Corporation ensuring that water and wastewater services to customers in Perth metropolitan area are provided 24/7, 365 days a year.


A key element in providing these services in the most efficient way is through the optimal delivery of business support functions and, where appropriate, to use our economies of scale to provide these on functions for Operations Group on a state-wide scale.


To make this new function a success we're looking for an energetic specialist on a 12 month fixed term basis able to operate within a fast-paced and highly dynamic work environment with a strong business improvement background and business acumen to join this newly established team.


What you'll do

Reporting to the Manager - Business Support as a member of the Business Support lead team, the Specialist - Business Support Optimisation will support business planning and improvement, risk management, and change implementation activities for the Perth Region while developing a suite of reporting to ensure Business Support and Perth Region meet their operational and efficiency targets.

In addition, you will help to optimise contractor assurance activities to ensure the optimal delivery of our contracted services from a cost, quality and safety perspective and lead projects impacting State-wide business support functions covering;

  • Customer quoted works
  • Small tools and equipment
  • Stores and logistics including Fleet Management

You see the 'big picture' and identify factors that impact success and direction of a business, identifying and pursuing opportunities to further optimise the operations of the business and implement best practice in everything we do.

You will also have;

  • Degree level qualification in business, commerce, or related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in business planning, process mapping and performance improvement, utilising a range of improvement approaches including Lean Six Sigma and DMAIC.
  • Substantial experience leading change implementation and delivering projects across multiple functions in a large organisation.
  • Considerable experience with tendering processes, and contract management frameworks and methodologies.
  • Certification in project management, change management or business improvement methodology.
