The Deputy Commissioner, OC will be an experienced and motivated executive leading the governance, finance, infrastructure, strategy, and information technology teams across QCS.

The Deputy Commissioner, OC will operate in a fast-paced and highly complex working environment while leading and overseeing the agencies major infrastructure projects, fiscal management, strategic policy and ensuring comprehensive corporate governance practice.

This role involves the strategic positioning of the Division to achieve QCS' strategy and vision and alignment with key government objectives and commitments.

The Deputy Commissioner, OC will focus on key areas such as significant capital works, infrastructure and IT projects, central agency engagement and strategic policy direction.

The position is a key member on the QCS Board of Management.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Providing decisive workforce leadership to the Organisational Capability Division.
  • Leading successful delivery of major infrastructure and information technology projects.
  • Leading the executive support function, ensuring processes and systems are in place, monitored and improved.
  • Ensuring comprehensive, transparent, and effective fiscal management and strategic sourcing in the complex and highcost areas of finance and contracts.
  • Strategic oversight of multibilliondollar infrastructure asset portfolio including prioritisation of planning, construction, and maintenance.
  • Leading the development of strategic, operational, and business plans which embrace innovation and versatility.
  • Providing strong and coordinated leadership in the design, development and implementation of governance, policy, planning, performance, research, and risk management functions.
  • Providing executive level policy and legislative advice to the Commissioner and Board of Management to mitigate organisational risk and manage key relationships.
  • Demonstrating your superior interpersonal skills to manage the resolution of critical and emergent issues.
